Politics

Politics refers to the activities, actions, and policies used to gain and hold power in a government or to influence the government. It encompasses the processes by which groups make collective decisions, the relationships between various political entities, and the impact of legislation and governance on society. Politics often involves the negotiation and exercise of authority, the resolution of conflicts among different interests, and the distribution of resources. Political systems can vary widely—ranging from democracies to autocracies—and political ideologies, such as liberalism, conservatism, socialism, and nationalism, shape how power and governance are viewed and implemented. At its core, politics is about the organization of power and the interactions of people and institutions within that framework.
